Service, Volunteering, and Leadership

Georgetown University has almost 400 student clubs and organizations and growing, as well as a dedicated Center for Social Justice, which supports over 40 student organizations that work in the Washington DC, national, and global communities. Additionally, the Washington DC area provides numerous community service opportunities. Pre-health students get involved in pre-professional societies, social justice organizations, mentoring and tutoring opportunities, sports and creative pursuits. It’s best to follow your interests and be open minded to new opportunities. It’s more important to show passion and commitment through meaningful involvement than checking any boxes in your future application materials. Through active participation on campus and by volunteering with underserved populations students cultivate compassion, leadership, teamwork, time management and communication among many other skills, while building a community and finding like minded peers.
