Pre-Med Volunteer Program

Welcome to the Georgetown Pre-Med Volunteer Program in Georgetown University Hospital. Our volunteers make a serious commitment to dedicate their time and energy to the hospital. Individuals volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours a week (divided into two/2 hour sessions) for each semester, or a minimum of 50 hours.

As a volunteer you will spend your first 25 hours getting to know the hospital and the staff better by escorting patients and visitors and running errands as needed (referred to in the hospital as “Way Finding”). After this time you will meet with Meagan Call, Director of Volunteer Services, to discuss your permanent position for the remainder of your time as a volunteer.

The work of the hospital volunteer is not only a significant aid to the hospital, but more importantly to the patients. As the Georgetown Pre-Med Volunteer Program expands, we hope to connect more potential volunteers with opportunities to help the hospital staff in many different roles.

If you have any questions about the volunteer program, please feel free to contact Amy Waxman, Academic Coordinator at (202) 687-4853 or Meagan Call, Director of the Volunteer Program at Georgetown Hospital (202) 444-5545.
